It’s the first few summery days of spring.
And I walked the promenade in Rye.
The boardwalk was alive with couples.
Some giddy in the newness of the bond
Others holding hands,
so comfortable in their oneness
Dog walkers, strangers themselves
Letting their furry friends
get to know each other,
nose to nose while,
families watch their future generations,
ride tricycles and tiny bikes,
round in circles or occasionally,
into unsuspecting strangers
I notice that other than the dog walkers,
Who’s charges get frequent treats for good behavior,
I am the only one walking on the boardwalk alone.
It is just a flickering recognition, neither good nor bad
Just one of the facts of a new life
I turn to walk back to the beginning.
The setting sun is blinding.
I take my camera from my pocket.
and capture the essence of this moment.

I love how you observe all that is around you. This is beautiful.
So real, so raw, so authentic and beautiful
Just beautiful writing ! Let’s try and get together soon!
