Under A Buck’s Moon

With eyes closed

I am awakened
And see quite clearly
That in this moment
Something shifted—

I see the path I’d taken,
The one I thought I’d longed for,
no longer holds the Buddha’s footprints.
Somewhere along the way
I’ve missed my mark—
I’d gone astray.

The question looms
Large in my reflection:
Do I go on
Or retrace my steps
To find my way?

I sit and wait
For direction
And hear the

Buck Moon’s
whispered wisdom—
“Either way.”
