A Study in Loving Kindness

By day you lead your yogis in breath led twist and poses

By night you have us reading star maps,

To navigate the journey that’s before us.

A journey we are destined for, but none of us has mastered,

We are humbled, when we see each other stumble,

And quick to help each other rise to walk the path again.

As fellow travels do, we bare and share our souls,

Confess our heart’s desire.

We weep about our hopes and fears,

And the personhood we aspire,

You hold space for us, guiding us to look inside,

and dig within much deeper,

in such a loving way that that can not deny you

and are in awe of what we find there

We are better for your company,

this patch quilt of a family,

That over time has formed around you.

With hands at hearts, we bow our heads in prayer,

And thank the mysteries of the universe,

For your very being and that you have gathered us together

To benefit from the loving kindness of this Sangha.

Namaste
